As an Ajax fan, big ups to Arne Slot! 10000% deserved a move like this, took a struggling Feyenoord side from far behind PSV and Ajax to arguably becoming the best team in the country during his tenure. It’s really impressive how well players like: Wieffer, Kokcü, Arsnens, Sinisterra, Hancko, Paixão, and Geertruida have developed under him.

I'm one of the guys you describe. I was waiting for this interview as much as you guys. Arne Slot is the first manager I'm fan of. It's a big loss for Feyenoord that he left. He made Feyenoord grow on all perspectives, building a great staff, growing youth, growing older players, and the most important, very good tactics. Above that he's a great and clever personality who's people management is amazing. He's the first manager made me watch all the press conferences, because he's funny and amazing with the press. His speech is formidable. Believe me this guy will create a slot-machine with all the sources that Liverpool has. He's not so well known yet, but already is one of the best coaches in the world. There's a chance he need some time if the odds are somehow against Liverpool, but he'll definitely overcome that, so please support him in that case! He will get you guys prices and I won't be surprised if he'll make Liverpool win the jackpot! I'll always had something with Liverpool, but will follow them thoroughly now and I'll maybe become a big fan as you guys as well. Enjoy the Euros and the following season!

I was wondering what arne is like in terms of transfers? lfc under klopp seemed to 'most of the time' make unbelievable signings. i am sure sporting directors ect play a big role in this but assume the head coach has a big say on who a club signs. Did arne make excellent transfers? i am sure he will work well with players and is a good coach tactically etc but as you know always signing the right players is crucial to ongoing success.

@@markhand4530 Arne is an excellent trainer in terms of transfers. His views on players have proven effective as all transfers now play for their country or are sold for record amounts. He wanted to bring in players like Joey Veerman or Mickey van de Ven, but Feyenoord has not always had enough money to attract the best players. You obviously have no problem with that, so he will make very good transfers. But the youth players are not forgotten and made great either.

Interesting watch. Quite measured and composed, speaks quite positively about Klopp and Feyenoord without sounding too gimmicky. Comes across on the surface as quite warm, but also quite direct, confident and commanding. Respects Klopp but doesnt talk himself down either. Sets expectations without unnecessarily raising them. Walks the tightrope very well.

I can only be happy that he didn't go to Leeds or Tottenham, he left for a club that is an undeniable step up from Feyenoord (apologies to the other two). Give the man some well earned rest, who knows, maybe he’ll be back one day. In the meantime I can only say, as a Feyenoord fan, that Slot is amazing. Yes, there is a bit of a gap in difficulty, though I think the differences in football culture between England and the Netherlands is a more relevant issue, but he can handle it. I hope he does as well for you guys as he did for us.

Congratulations to Liverpool on bringing in a great trainer/manager and, above all, human being. Literally every Dutch club would have wanted Arne Slot as a trainer/manager. He gets the best out of himself and his environment in every situation. He will be loved by players, club staff and the public and even the media. Absolutely, and i think because he is likeable, the players will have a good connection with him which will make them and him successful because thats one of the most important parts, tactics can only get so far

The thought of losing Klopp always worried me and when the day came I just sat and wondered who could possibly replace him ? The answer is of course no one, but the second I heard Slot would be Liverpool manager I instantly felt some relief. for me as a feyenoord fan, Arne slot is a living legend. he put put feyenoord back on the top and well known around the world , as much as it hurts me seeing him in a different outfit other than feyenoord.... i wish him all the best at Liverpool. i hope he will be as much loved at Liverpool as he was at Feyenoord once again all the best arne we will never forget you!

thank you!. best of luck to you also. I was wondering what arne is like in terms of transfers? lfc under klopp seemed to 'most of the time' make unbelievable signings. i am sure sporting directors ect play a big role in this but assume the head coach has a big say on who a club signs. Did arne make excellent transfers? i am sure he will work well with players and is a good coach tactically etc but as you know always signing the right players is crucial to ongoing success.
