Absolutely. It was during those two months when he also scored a brace at Porto, a brace at Atletico Madrid and a hat-trick at Old Trafford. He scored or assisted in 18 games in a row in all competitions during that period. He was, without a doubt, the best in the world in that moment. Unfortunately, heartbreak at the AFCON final followed by the agony of missing out on Qatar 2022 took their toll on him and wrote a different ending to what was otherwise a ballon d'or worthy season.

Salah has to be in the conversation for Liverpool's greatest ever player. He always delivers. Our highest scorer in Europe and now the Premier League, what a player, we are witnessing a true legend of the game. He is way behind Ian Rush in terms of goals scored, miles behind. He is no doubt awesome & will be in the conversation, but its hard to rate him above Gerard, Rush, Kenny. But that alone says how great he has been

@Sticktodafacts he's probably above Gerrard. I haven't seen the stats, but I'm wagering his goal involvement rate is better than Rushie's, too. Not to mention forwards didn't have to defend as much in the 70s and 80s. Also, he has this rate as a *winger*. People keep seeming to forget that.

@@YMasterS Above Gerard. Not yet in terms of goals & not near in terms of quality. Who forgets he is a winger? The players I mentioned played for a decade or so for Liverpool. Come back to me in another 5 or so years of Salah playing top flight for Liverpool before he has really earned the right to be considered among the true Liverpool greats. If you want to find out Rushs goal involvements, dont try to guess. There is a thing called the internet you can find out. Whilst you are at it, check out the number of trophies Rush has

Good eye! I've also noticed he has a tendency to score in the near corners of the net and usually at the keeper's off leg, so deceptively simple and low effort yet so effective, I feel like he likes to score off of a running start as well, it feels more natural and smooth he even does it on penalties. Having these two skills you mentioned naturally can take you far but with the amount of hours this man puts in, well it's no wonder he's achieved what he has. Truly our pride and joy.

This is an inspiring success story for all of us, especially for those who were mocking him at the beginning!
