Fernando Torres was truly one of the best when he was in Liverpool. I really did like him a lot and even tho he lost a lot of respect from me and others when he joined Chelsea i still think he was the best PL striker at that time and even today maybe only Lewa could compere to him. He was TOP TOP CLASS. (Arsenal fan)

We can only imagine how well would this prime Fernando Torres do in our current Liverpool under Jurgen Klopp. He'd most probably have a 'more goals than games' ratio based on how capable that squad is at creating so much goalscoring chances.

Fernando Torres's heading ability is criminally underrated. He's not really a powerheader like Drogba or C. Ronaldo but he's so brilliant at 'finessing' the ball with his head to steer it past the keeper and into the net. Just look at these goals for example 15:30 17:38 18:52 Top top lad, truly miss him. YNWA

Because we had Voronin and Rafa screwed up by letting Alonso leave because he was interested in Gareth Barry and also the mancs had arguably their greatest team of all time in that period

2007-2009 was Rafa's ultimate lineup during his reign there

Everyone talking about Torres and rightly so but what about Alonso and mascherano. They could have been in the team until about 2015/16 and out midfield would look unbeatable

Alonso was one of the best play-making midfielders of the time, he would easily fit in to LFC now with the counter style they play, he could knock the ball onto a penny anywhere on the pitch.

Of the players fielded this season, Mascherano's departure was the most painful for me. IMO, he was irreplaceable. We've never been able to find another one like him, until Fabinho appeared.

He admits now that he was also heartbroken. So hungry for trophies, now realises contentment is of more value. Was never before or after as happy as at LFC. Atletico may have groomed him, but he was made for Liverpool. The club of his most complete expression of happiness

That period with Rafa between 05-09, I fucking loved that team. Such a shame we never managed to win a premier league with that squad.

Torres + Gerrard was 🔥

Best striker for 3 seasons, amazing pace burner but had incisive finishing too. Predator.

It takes me back to great times watching the games at anfield and with friends in the pub this is why we love our team it brings people together happy days indeed

wonderful season it was, so attractive!

a lot of people forgot that even though cristiano had 33 goals that season like 10 of them come from penalties... Most of torres' goals were from open play. (or all)

Out of all the premier League seasons up to that date Torres performances was probably the best seen since peak John Barnes 1990

I think this was Riise's last season. I remember how unfit he looked that year and was clearly a shadow of his former self. One of my favourite ever Liverpool players, but it kinda sucked he never scored a PL goal in his last season, but will be remembered for the OG vs Chelsea in the Champions League instead.
