100% mate, especially when we went through the whole of 1990s with the FA Cup under Souness and EFL Cup under Evans. Houllier kicked start our resurrection in 2000, followed by Rafa then we down grade to Hodgson. Only under Roy Hodgson and Brendan Rodgers we haven't won a thing ... dat is fcukin pathetic being a LFC gaffer. Imagine, a retired King Kenny got us into FA Cup final and won the EFL Cup in just a season in charge. Now .... Klopp era is upon us.

I remember watching this and Arsenal battered us. Then Owen decided he fancied a winners medal. What a finish that second was.
If 2006 Fa cup final is the Steven Gerrard final. This is the Michael Owen final. Used to adore him so much. 💓💖

Steven first goal for 2-2 against WHU, is similar to Owen first goal in this final.
The pass from Paddy Berger for the second goal is so overlooked. Brilliant player
Michael Owen. Generational talent and truly blessed to have him as my boyhood hero! I even had a massive happy 30th birthday wish from him. He made me fall in love with Liverpool. What a time.

One of Gerard Houllier's finest moments as Liverpool manager in that time. Got Michael Owen scoring for fun in this cup final. RIP Gerard Houllier
It takes a player of Owen's predatory calibre to put away a winner like that, but my God what about that incredible long range assist from Berger? Genius.
that young Henry was scary af
What a season that was, cup treble and Champions League qualifiers. Amazing times. That away kit was a beauty as well.

Owen wanted to leave because Real Madrid were starting the Galacticos & seeked an easy passage to win the CL. But, to his dismay, Liverpool won it that very same year he left!LOL! Anyway, he wasn't half the player he was in 2001 & didn't do well in Spain. He was shipped to Newcastle & then chose to betray us even further when he pulled on a Scumchester Utd shirt. True Scousers will never forgive him for that.

What a goalkeeping performance by Henchoz
I was seated just behind where that throw-in was taken at 0:52. Even from there I could see that Henchoz handball clear as day. The match officials absolutely cheated Arsenal out of a trophy that day. Should have been a red card and a penalty.
Two good sides. Seeing Owen and Fowler playing together is great to see, both great goal scorers. I saw them in an earlier round when Liverpool played Tranmere Rovers at Prenton Park.
RIP Gérard! Thank you for the memories!
3:12, Gerrard+Owen+Fowler What A Combination💪🏻

Great times. As Houllier used to say ‘5 trophies in one calendar year”.

With love & respect to Gerard Houllier. 1947-2020, thanks for the memories...

Great memories, scorching hot day and a team that never gave up that season
I was there on that special day. Met Phil Neal on the train going down to the game. Came home with a black eye after the crazy second goal celebration. Still don't remember how I got it.🤣

Arsenal were by far the better team in this match, think most Liverpool fans would admit that. Then in 2005 Man Utd outplayed Arsenal but the Gunners lifted the cup, funny how it works out

Lowkey observation. I always thought Cup finals in the Millenium Stadium were better than Cup finals in Wembley. The Wembley pitches had for the most part been terrible.

Arsenal battered us that day but we still managed to win. What a game. What a comeback.
Michael Owens finest hour and NO ARMANI SUITS, NO SUNGLASSES and a decent away strip as well. RIP Gerrard Houllier.
Good article in the Echo today about Owen's situation after leaving Liverpool and how he tried to come back several times. LFC then, when he first left, and when he wasn't brought back, were a mess and too stupid to get it done. He wasn't that badly injured before he went to Newcastle, and it was at a time when they would have entire teams on the injured list. That last chance at the end is a small indicator of Fowler after the injuries. I know he hadn't been playing much and had come off the bench here, so not entirely fair, but before the injuries there would have been no hesitation or question about what happens next - would either be bang straight in the back of the net or right across to the back post for Owen. Either result would have made this even more f-ing brilliant.
Cup treble that year

Michael Owen my favourite footballers. He makes me love Liverpool
VAR would have ruined Henchoz’s day!
Hope they post that 5-4 uefa cup
When Ljungberg still had hair
if VAR existed those days, Henchoz was indeed handball, very lucky referee didnt give arsenal a penalty
Handball from liverpool defender. Red card? . Why isnt that mentioned?
Pure Liverpool magic!
Villa fan here but Liverpool are the Kings of comebacks. What a player Michael Owen was, they used to feed him yuppers to get the legs going.
This game was definitely one for the history books that Never say Never attitude that our club is known for definitely was on show that day!💯❤️⚽️🏆
that 2nd goal from owen..but what about that sublime pass from Berger...absolute peach!
Arsenal fan here and still to this day this one hurts 😔. Remember we dominated Liverpool most of the game and had so many chances and didn’t take them 😮. For me as an Arsenal fan I’d say it’s our most painful defeat against Liverpool and it definitely left a mark 😔. We the next season responded with a Premier League and FA Cup double and of course a title win at Old Trafford 😁 I’m sure even Liverpool fans reading will take satisfaction 😌. I don’t know about anyone else but I always look forward to Arsenal vs Liverpool games 😮 because 9 times out of 10 they’re just pure football matches how they should be played 🙂. FA Cup is always a trophy I want to win! Nowadays fans have been brainwashed by all the corporates and media to focus on the business side of the game but I stick with tradition and that’s winning trophies 🏆. FA Cup for me is still as big as it always was and always will be 🙂

As a Liverpool supporter, I obviously was delirious with the comeback, but this was so close to actual robbery Fowler should have accepted the trophy dressed as The Hamburglar.
Defending was greatest of all time
Owen: fine, I'll do it myself.
Honestly, if VAR existed at that time,Henchoz should have been sent off and a penalty should have been taken against LFC. Yet, referees makes mistakes in favor and against all teams.
