Please i prefer a friendly rivalry Because this is their job and they are professionals at the end of the day. If the fans want to take it overboard, let them. The players don’t need to buy into it too. They are there to play football and represent their clubs

I agree but the full back didn't get close to him. In other games Mo is marked more tightly and he can't get past his man every time he gets the ball. We have to be realistic. The ball moves faster then the man. It's a passing game. We cannot expect Mo to dribble past people throughout every game. I like it when him, Trent and Hendo combine. Very difficult to stop quick interplay between those three.

I fully agree which is why I believe at the end of the day it’s kinda a good thing Mane left. He was my favorite player, so I know how bad it hurts and how scary it is, but especially ever since the Afcon final, I feel there has been a bit of a rift between Mo and Sadio. I think it was starting to show more and more as the season progressed (after Senegal beat Egypt) then to almost add insult to injury Senegal eliminated Egypt from playing in the World Cup. I know that they are and always will be very close friends, but you are deluded if you don’t see how much it affected Mo. Now that he doesn’t have that tension/very very lowkey potentially toxic rivalry I feel like he has and will be able to let go of that loss and really move forward. Egypt means so so much to him so it’s more than understandable that the final shook not only his confidence but his comfort which was starting to show. Again, I wish it didn’t have to go this way but I do believe that Sadio leaving was for the best (both for him and Liverpool) plus now that we added Nunez+Carvalho this team might’ve just found our equilibrium. Easy sensationalised narratives rather than the boring reality, which is that players get tired after constant football? Salah's had a break. He's secured his future. He's ready to go again. Last season he had played non-stop for ages, through covid-wrecked seasons and instability and a gruelling AFCON and a team having to play every single game that it is possible to play in a season. The players have both refuted any rift or rivalry. That should be enough for a LIverpool fan, and at one time it would have been. God knows there are enough malintent fuelled rival fans and critics ready to push made up narratives.

I’m inclined to want to see Bobbie for the first 45 then maybe Darwin for the next 45 over these early games. Bobbie gives the team such a platform to dominate games which is why I’d want him to be starting. Having 5 subs this season will be really beneficial too

The best way to start off the season!!! So proud of the boys. They played one hell of a game. Always gonna be difficult to beat Man City but the boys put out a great performance. Adrian was really good in goal for us, Thiago was commanding as always, Hendo was like a machine running after every ball, Diaz was something special on the LW, so happy for Nunez to get his first competitive goal of the season and do we even have to mention Mo....He was unbelievably fantastic. City made it tough for us but we got the job done. Now bring on another tough season. The boys are ready. Well done again reds. WE ARE LIVERPOOL!!!!

Carvalho looks like a kid about to become a star from what I've seen so far. Demanding the ball at 19 years old is unbelievable confidence and he seems to have great balance and poise on the ball. I could be wrong of course, I can't claim to have watched Fulham much, but so far....he's looked like an absolute prospect of the highest order.

Never bothered watching the community shield for some years, but this was an absolute belter .considering both teams not yet at full speed and at their best this could have easily been a UCL game. what a standard these two teams have set and must have scared the hell out of the rest of the premier league .

I noticed that Thiago is friends with EVERYBODY…he has a good friend on every other team we play or he greets everyone in a genuinely friendly way. Awesome guy and player.

I know it's only a friendly, but you still have to achieve something to play in it. The self entitlement is appalling. Perhaps those players should educate themselves on where their club was before the money tree grew.
