I love how the club is getting the women's team involved more. Even on the website, they're featured much more than before. Plus, they get the chances to play matches at Anfield now. I hope we keep promoting women's football & that the teams starts performing better. We are 2x former WSL champions. We can do it again. YNWA!

I'm in my early 50's now and growing up playing football on the local field or park, I had a friend, funnily enough called Alison, and she wanted to play football with the boys. None of us had a problem with this except for when it came to going in for challenges. Understandably we were a bit stand off ish at first, and I don't think anyone really went in with a full bloodied challenge on her, but for the most part she could give as good as she got. She just became one of the lads. She used to want to play army and build dens as well. It's good to see women's football taking off.

@@seamusm84 How is that a problem? It is the most competitive sport in the world which makes the best players 1 in a million with their talent and dedication. The money is only there because so many people in the world want to watch it and are inspired by the gameplay. If the girls were the same skill level making incredible plays like ronaldo. messi, etc then there will definitely be millions of viewers which means ad revenue which means money. Its so pathetic to complain about the mens game and blame them for women not getting attention when the real reason is that they are no where near the level as the best teams in the world. People want to be amazed and awe-struck when they watch professional sport.

@@barres5584 Women were banned from playing elite football back in the 1920s because men wanted their jobs back and nobody came to a reasonable understanding as to how to move forward. Not to do with the current male stars but there's an understandable bitterness. Many are now showing support for the women's game but there are also many in the media who are leaving opportunities to help validate the achievements of the lionesses and all the other stars of the game. It's getting there, but we'll see what happens in Australia next year!
