When Stevie smashed that goal in against olympiakos I jumped up and broke my toe against the sofa.. I still suffer with pain in that toe to this day. Cheers Steve what a memory.

I was fortunate to see him play live on several occasions, I even got to meet him once. What a legend he is, a true Liverpool icon.

Truly the greatest captain I could have ever asked for. I never got to live the glory days of the 80s as I was born in 91 but I got to live through Stevie G dragging us through hell to some astonishing victories with some astonishing goals

I still remember being a kid and listening to that Sheffield Wednesday game on the radio when he scored his first goal. Actually thinking about it I have so many "I remember where I was when" moments thanks to this man. The Olympiakos game, the West Ham FA cup final, Istanbul....
