Yesterday was a sad day for all of the Liverpool family when the training ground was handed over and the famous gates closed for the last time coming to an end of an era. All the legends came through it, goodbye Melwood

It's a special place indeed. However, sometimes we have to make a difficult decision to keep moving forward. The place may be gone but the spirit of Melwood will stay alive.

Remember back in the late 70's, my dad driving us down to Melwood and holding me up so I could watch Keegan, Toshack, Heighway and the lads train. I loved Ray Kennedy.

The training ground rekindles us our ups and downs as a club. From Shankly to Klopp, what a historic site it has been. Goodbye and Thank You Melwood.

Melwood has not only produced liverpool legends but also absolute legends of the game. Legendary and Iconic. On to a new era👊🔴

Flew over from Belfast many moons ago with my Wife & two boys ( now young men with their own little reds) we went to Melwood one cold morning stood all day the boys met Harry Kewel , Steve Finan and I had a chat with one of my old idols Sammy Lee . Fantastic Liverpool memories of an Iconic place in our history that I’m glad I visited now that is no more , yes we go forward but pause for the history of the greats that had a cuppa in that hallowed place YNWA .

Melwood is always in our memories, a place that has a lot of memories there with our beloved players and everyone else ❤️

Supporting Liverpool for over 20 years. I've always hoped to come here. At last I've crossed 8,500 kilometers and moved here this October. Nevertheless, missed a tour of this holy place for the Covid-19 situation and lockdown.

what a place and memory Melwood have had,no matter how big the game was,how important it is,how cruacial the 3 point is,they'll always train first at Melwood,and how many player this training ground have produce to make it a world class star,such as Gerrard,Torress,Rush,Dalglish,Suarez,Sterling,Carragher,Joe Gomez,Trent,all talented player being trained at Melwood,letting it go is part of a sad moment,but sometime we have to see a new thing,let's keep our heads up and stay focus

Even a video as such makes me feel a proud LIVERPOOL FC supporter.You’ll Never Walk Alone,MELWOOD.

As a former Cantril Farm resident I can say that I will miss the sight of the place, I have lot's of great memories in the late 70's & early 80's with me and my brother using a crate to see over the wall to get a glimpse of players like Keegan, Toshack, Souness, Dalglish and actually talking to them near the entrance. Now my brother is no longer with me but I still have those memories. Good luck to the players and staff at LFC, and I hope the future generation of kids in Kirby enjoy having the training ground near them.

We will always remember this ground so much talent have been here👏👏

I remember as a kid climbing on the bins to watch the boys play. I am very sad indeed at Melwood closing. But i totally understand why this decision has been made.Thanks for the memories. YNWA.

how emotional this tribute can be. im from malaysia and i’ve never been to any country cause im from a poor family, but liverpool is my life. imagine being a liverpool fan from 1998. there’s a lot of happiness, sadness, i smiled, i cried all because of this team. farewell melwood, a beautiful and historic place that trained many of legendary players.

Will miss it😢
