Every Goal of LFC's 98/99 Season | Berger's unstoppable strikes
Спорт
Michael Owen would be in scintillating form throughout the 98/99 season notching 18 Premier League goals in the process with strike partner Robbie Fowler hitting 14. Watch out for some Patrik Berger thunderbolts thrown in for good measure as well!

Patrick Berger. Some player. What a left foot. Always thought he gave the midfield good balance. Like Ray Kennedy did from a previous generation.

Patrik. Cant even get the names right.
That celebration by Owen was brilliant
Patrick Berger, what a player he was. YNWA
My all time favorite player Patrik Berger ❤
People forget how good Jamie Redknapp was for Liverpool. His goals, his rifle of a right foot, not to mention his longevity at the club and captaining the side too. These 90s season videos have hopefully given a glimpse into what a quality player he was.

Was about to make a similar comment. Was a baller and a great tackler too. Such a shame he missed the treble winning season

If you could have waved a magic wand and created a version of Redknapp who rarely got injured ... He would have been a WORLD CLASS beast of a player. Would also have dominated for England too. He had it all ... but just ALWAYS got injured at the worst times ... and many of the injuries were the sort that would keep him out for months rather than weeks.

@@lukereilly2956 He was a very good player but sadly jinxed by injuries and sadly did not play a single game in the 2000/2001 season. It was nice how he was brought on to lift the trophy along with Hyypia after Liverpool won the FA Cup that season.

What a squad at that time!
just imagine if fowler never got injured and played alongside a pre-injury prime owen, with macca in the form he was in

Imagine if Berger never got injured and Roy Evans used him before that. Or Heggem never had a bad hamstring
Nice seeing Fowler & Owen playing together but we nowhere near the title again. Macca's goal celebrations say it all...
Yeeeeeeees! Thankyou so much for these videos they are keeping me sane!!!!!
Back in the days where there weren’t any fancy celebration. Only raise their hands up as a celebration once scored.

Liverpool Goat ❤🔥
loved this team especially Berger. Still remember going to school the next day and giving it to the all the United fans after Ince scored THAT goal. wow.
This is crazy; but could you do every EPL goal from LFC?!
i remember anfield being half empty in the 80s for cup games in the 80s. I forgot in the 90s there was lots of empty seats too. We always think of ourselves as being able to have a 70k+ stadia but thats a new thing
Awesome Goals 🌌👀
8:38 ultra rare Carragher's goal
Lover from Ireland
So many of the commentaries saying "Liverpool back in it..." or similar, shows what a poor season that was. Still some of my favourite players were back then.
Berger was great! Czech dynamite
Have very fond memories of that Liverpool side which contained some brilliant players like Berger, Fowler, Ince, Macca, Owen and Redknapp
Оуэн просто супер!!!!!
This was a truly awful season, but watching just the goals is therapeutic.

They scored the second-highest total of goals in the league 68 behind champions Man Utd but their defence was porous conceding 49 goals. Ince, Redknapp, Berger and McManaman were very good players with Fowler and Owen providing top class finishing but Liverpool's defensive was a weak-link.

Missing football even more now! 😭

This was an unpleasant season to live through ... We started well, and topped the league after 4 games ... but then it ALL came crashing down, as it always did in the 90s ... After that 7-1 win over Southampton ... We only won FIVE of the remaining SIXTEEN league fixtures ... and the squad was becoming increasingly weak. Evans left after just a handful of games ... and the boot-room era was finally over.

I became a Liverpool fan that season, mainly because of Owen and Fowler. The next few seasons had better memories but of course no league titles.

You can really see the change in the attacking style from Roy Evans's earlier sides. Much more pragmatic. MacMannaman playing a much smaller role in the attack is particularly noticeable. Owen and Fowler seemed to play a bit together - I know Fowler was injured a fair bit. Not sure of the numbers, and what happens next, I know Owen becomes the undoubted number 1, but this season was possibly where they played together the most?

McManaman on his way out + managerial upheaval explains results this season, despite Vegard Heggem's arrival.

Yup ... was a classic 'transition' season ... with a mish-mash of players who didn't work as a unit.

This was around the time he wanted to leave, and there was a lot of problems behind the scenes. The muted celebrations are generally a sign a player is fed up and wants a change.
Patrick berger is good partner for Michael Owen.
Seems like they didn't wanna show the celebration at 11:30 haha...

When your finally here before the fake MR BEAST
Houllier messed up Paul Ince's Liverpool career by trying to sign Marc Vivien Foe without speaking to him first. Both fell out.

2011-12 was also bad in the league but League Cup softened the blow. Even 2004-05 was a mediocre league season but we mostly just remember Istanbul.
